Moma Mineral Sands Single Buoy Mooring (SBM) is a purpose built facility for the export by transhipment of Ilmenite, Rutile and Zircon. It is located inshore of the islands of Ilha Caldeira and Ilha Njovo. The Single Buoy Mooring (SBM) is securely moored in water with a minimum charted depth of 22m. This will provide a safe deep water mooring for all vessels within the following parameters as per below.
In the 2010 upgrade it became possible to berth the barges on either side of the jetty which reduces swell related downtime.
